So I went to china mall on Saturday with a friend, and amidst the many many many things we discovered there, I found Star Wars character cookie cutters! There were also Angry Birds and all kinds of fun things. So naturally I had to bake something that I could cut up into Darth Vaders and Yodas! This recipe is based on What Katie Ate's Paprenjaci biscuits, with my own twist. These biscuits are sooo delicious cause they aren't too sweet or too spicy, and they are perfect with tea.
You need some:
2.75 cups flour
a handful of sliced almonds - crush them up a bit
200gr butter
1 tsp black pepper
just under a tsp of cinnamon
nice pinch of nutmeg
0.5 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp honey
1 egg
3 egg yolks
0.75 cups sugar
Combine your ingredients and mix them up well. Leave the dough to chill for about an hour and then roll it out and cut away!
Bake them for 15 minutes or so (seriously depends on your oven) - just watch that they just just just get golden brown. A minute too long and they will taste a bit burnt.
Thanks China Mall, and thanks Katie. What a great weekend!

I was going to write "these are not the cookies you're looking for" but I wasn't sure anyone would get it? Any star wars tragics? OK, never mind.
ReplyDeleteHaha! No, you don't need to see their identification, these aren't the cookies you are looking for...
